    QUALIFICATIONS:


    Education:

    • Graduation from a certified Police Academy/College and/or University degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in related field (Criminology, Public Administration, Social or Police Science) and a relevant combination of professional training and experience is required.

    Work Experience:

    • A minimum of five (5) years (seven [7] years in absence of university degree) of relevant and progressive responsible experience in the field of policing (training, police management, police institutional and capacity building, planning, criminal investigation, forensics, operations, organized crime combating, drug enforcement, community policing and crime prevention, border police etc.) is required;
    • Excellent drafting skills and fluency in both oral and written English is required;
    • Previous working experience in intelligence/analytical or criminal investigation entities in national law enforcement environment;
    • Experience in international policing, law enforcement issues, international police liaison activities and/or reporting is distinct advantage;
    • Relevant experience of working in a multicultural environment and/or in peacekeeping operations (UN, NATO and/or EU) is desirable;
    • Previous experience in planning, preparation and implementation of projects is an advantage;
    • Good knowledge of the conditions prevailing in the country of assignment;
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office package.

    Languages:

    • English and French are the working languages of the UN. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
    • Knowledge of a second official UN language is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of Serbian and/or Albanian language is highly desirable.

    Recent active working experience in Interpol NCB on matters related to issuance of Notices and Diffusions,
    search for fugitives and stolen/misappropriated objects using INTERPOL databases is an advantage.Wideranging
    working experience in criminal investigation entities in national law enforcement environment or in
    the field of international police cooperation may be considered in lieu of recent Interpol NCB experience;
    Experience in international policing or lawenforcement, international police liaison activities and/or reporting
    is desirable; Practical experience in planning and project management is desirable;

    Assessment for Mission Service: All candidates should be cleared through an Assessment for Mission Service (AMS) either by a Selection Assistance and Assessment Team (SAAT) deployed to a Member State
    or on the basis of an in-mission AMS upon arrival of the candidates. Failure to pass the in-mission assessment
    will result in candidate’s repatriation. All repatriation related expenses in this case are to be borne by the
    Member State. Therefore, the Member States are strongly encouraged to request a SAAT to conduct anAMS
    in the Member State prior to the police personnel deployment.


    Languages: English and French are the working languages of the UN and INTERPOL. For the post
    advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of a second official INTERPOL
    language (French, Spanish) is an advantage.
