The Integrated Training Service (ITS), in cooperation with the United Nations Police Division of the Department of Peace Operations and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), conducted the first Training of Trainers course on the UN Police’s Specialised Training Materials (STM) for 18 participants, representing 10 Member States, the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in the Department of State of the United States, UNITAR and United Nations Police (UNPOL).
The course was held at the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) in Brindisi, Italy, from 21 September to 1 October 2021. It aimed to certify participants who will deliver Training of Trainers courses together with ITS. It also strengthens the capacity of Member States to deliver UN-required police pre-deployment training in their national and/or regional police peacekeeping training institutions. The course was designed to familiarize participants with the new UN Police STM and to increase their knowledge and skills to better facilitate, deliver and evaluate these training courses. The training covered soft skills training methodology, including the results-based learning process, lesson sequencing, communication strategy, giving and receiving feedback and classroom management, and other important topics highlighted in the STM. In addition, the facilitators adopted an experiential and collaborative learning approach, allowing participants to share knowledge and experiences and contribute dynamically to the learning process.
The United Nations Specialised Training Materials for Police is developed as part of UNPOL’s Training Architecture Programme to ensure its compliance with the Strategic Guidance Framework for International Policing (SGF) and other relevant UN guidance. The UN Police Training Architecture Programme consists of four projects and encompasses the development of a mandatory SGF online course, the creation of a web portal to host e-learning courses, and the development of new pre-deployment training materials for all UNPOL as well as job-specific training courses for different categories of UN Police personnel. UNPOL lance un cours sur les matériels spécialisés de formation
Le Service intégré de formation (Integrated Training Service) a récemment organisé une formation des formateurs sur les matériels éducatifs spécialisés pour la Police des Nations Unies. Ce cours a été organisé en collaboration avec la Division de la Police du Département des opérations de paix et l’Institut des Nations Unies pour la formation et la recherche (UNITAR).
Dix-huit participants de 10 Etats Membres, du Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs du Département d’état des Etats Unis, de l’UNITAR et d’UNPOL ont suivi cette formation au Centre mondial de services de brindisi, du 21 septembre au 1er octobre.
Cette formation a pour objectif de renforcer les capacités des Etats membres en formation pré-déploiement au profit des institutions nationales ou régionales de formation de la police pour le maintien de la paix.
Le cours a été conçu pour familiariser les participants avec les nouveaux supports de formation spécialisés de la police des Nations Unies et pour accroître leurs connaissances et leurs compétences afin de mieux faciliter, dispenser et évaluer ces cours de formation.
La formation a porté sur la méthodologie de formation aux compétences non techniques, y compris le processus d'apprentissage basé sur les résultats, l'enchaînement des cours, la stratégie de communication, la transmission et la réception de commentaires et la gestion de la classe, ainsi que d'autres sujets importants mis en évidence dans les supports de formation spécialisés.
Les animateurs ont adopté une approche d'apprentissage basée sur l’expérience et la collaboration, permettant aux participants de partager leurs connaissances et de contribuer au processus d'apprentissage.
Cette formation a été développée dans le cadre du programme d’architecture de la formation d’UNPOL pour assurer sa conformité avec le Cadre d'orientation stratégique pour la police internationale (SGF) et d'autres orientations pertinentes des Nations Unies.
Ce programme d’architecture de la formation consiste en 4 projets et comprend :
- Le développement d’une formation obligatoire sur le SGF ;
- La création d’un portail web pour l’apprentissage en ligne ;
- Le développement de nouveaux matériels de formation pré-déploiement pour UNPOL, et ;
- Des formations spécifiques pour les différentes catégories de personnel d’UNPOL.
